Database to Database – D2D technical factsheet

Through the flexibility built into D2D there are a number of applications in the social housing sector, including working with groups of RSLs:
- pooling property information for Choice Based or 'hard to let' marketing
- pooling housing applicants - whether or not those doing so operate a common allocations policy - to a common housing register to avoid duplication of administration
D2D complies with Government's e-GIF* and e-GMF requirements for data to be held in an open and accessible format and can be used as the tool to ensure this compliance.
The power of D2D means it has wide applications across the residential property industry. This includes being attractive to providers of financial products wishing to monitor and more effectively incentivise agents who are part of their promotional network.
There are many other applications of D2D and many we will not yet have thought of, so if it has started you thinking about how it might solve data transfer or pooling for you, contact us and we can discuss the potential of D2D working for you.

* The e-GIF defines the technical policies and specifications governing information flows across government and the public sector. They cover interconnectivity, data integration, e-services access and content management. Version 6.1 contains the high level policy statements, management, implementation and compliance regimes, whilst technical policies and specifications are contained in the Technical Standards Catalogue (TSC).
